Web Programming and Database Design

This is a summer internship opportunity with the possibility to grow into a paid part-time position during the school year. It involves design and creation of a SQL database driven website. The right candidate will work with the MS SQL database, using the Enterprise Manager to design the database for a particular science and technology related website. In parallel, he/she will design the fully functional user interface to this database, using ColdFusion server side programming. This project will be a great learning experience; it will take the candidate through the full design, programming and implementation process of an online database driven website.

Qualifications

The right candidate should have a strong SQL database, web programming, HTML, and ColdFusion programming knowledge. Some experience with online publishing and web site design is needed. Good communication and presentation skills are a plus since this project will involve interaction with other programmers and web design specialists.
