Position Title: Nanofabrication Facility Manager ANU Officer Grade 9 (Research)

Fixed Term – 4 years

Salary Range: $79,497 - $83,149 pa plus 17% super

The Australian National Fabrication Facility (ANFF) provides Australian researchers with state-of-the-art fabrication capability for nanoparticles, nanostructures, nanosensors and nanotechnological devices. It is a seven-node facility, with nodes distributed throughout Australia, drawing on existing infrastructure and expertise. The Research School of Physical Sciences and Engineering at the ANU hosts the ACT Node of ANFF.

The establishment of the local node has created this highly skilled position which will play a significant role in cutting-edge research. The Nanofabrication Facility Manager will be responsible for the coordination and successful delivery of the ANFF program and usage/operation of its facilities. The position will play a crucial role in liaising with staff of RSPhysSE as well as acting as the central contact for the ACT Node of ANFF. The role will coordinate and implement technical, financial, human and physical resources for the ACT Node of ANFF with RSPhysSE teams and provide advice on ANFF policies and procedures to staff.

To be successful in the role you will have expertise in scientific and technical management including strategic and project planning, costing and coordination. Your communication, organization and team leadership skills in a research environment will need to be of a high order. You will also require proven experience in semiconductor/wafer processing in a research environment with strong skills and experience in training and supervision.
