New Theories in Physics and Astronomy

Please, note that PhysLink.com did not review sites listed below. We do not endorse or claim any validity to the claims described in these sites. Be cautious! some of these 'New Theories' are confusing, missleading, and plain wrong.

Alternative & Speculative Theories

  • The Comedy-Recycling Theory of the Entire Known Universe
Jerry Reynard's personal theory attempting to explain a fundamental dilemma: how can gravity emanate from a black hole? An alternative model for black hole behavior and cosmology.
  • Cosmic Ancestry
The full story and latest developments on panspermia — the hypothesis that life exists throughout the universe and is distributed by asteroids, comets, and meteoroids. Presents the strongest version of this theory.
  • Holistic Quantum Cosmology — The Uniton Theory
A proposed rational quantum theory by Louis Beketov Nielsen (Denmark) offering a unification between the microcosmos and macrocosmos through a concept called the “uniton.”
  • The Thunderbolts Project — Electric Universe Theory
One of the most active alternative cosmology communities online, proposing that electromagnetism rather than gravity is the dominant force shaping the universe. Includes articles, videos, and extensive forums. Controversial and rejected by mainstream astrophysics.

Preprint Repositories

  • arXiv.org
Cornell University's open-access preprint server for physics, mathematics, astronomy, and related fields. Contains cutting-edge legitimate research before formal peer review. The standard repository used by professional physicists worldwide.
  • viXra.org
An open preprint archive founded as an alternative to arXiv, accepting submissions from independent and non-affiliated researchers without moderation or endorsement requirements. Contains a wide range of speculative and non-mainstream papers. Content is unreviewed and highly variable in quality.

Skeptical Resources

  • Skeptical Inquirer
The flagship publication of the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry (CSI). Rigorously examines extraordinary claims in physics, astronomy, and beyond using scientific methodology. An essential counterweight to fringe theories.
  • Skeptic Magazine
Published by the Skeptics Society and founded by Michael Shermer, Skeptic Magazine investigates pseudoscience, fringe claims, and the boundaries of scientific knowledge with thorough, accessible writing.
  • Talk.Origins Archive
A comprehensive archive exploring the creation/evolution controversy and related fringe claims in biology and cosmology. Provides detailed scientific rebuttals to common misconceptions.
  • Skeptical Pages
A collection of skeptical newsletters and resources compiled by Tommy Persson at Linköping University, Sweden. An older resource but contains a useful historical archive of skeptical literature.
