Areas:		  Astrophysics: stellar structure; condensed-matter theory: Josephson junction arrays, phase-transitions in liquid crystals and related systems; condensed-matter experiment: electrokinetics and porous media, computer interfacing.
Facilities:  The Student Observarory, with its 9 1/2 inch refracting telescope and Perkins Observatory, south of Delaware. Perkins houses a 32-inch refracting telescope and two smaller instruments. Other department facilities include a shop comprised of metal-working (lathe, milling machine) and wood-working (table-saw, scroll-saw, drill press) tools, a complete electronics lab, a darkroom, and various smaller laboratory spaces.
